๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฌ (๐๐๐๐) We often hear the word โCatechumensโ and โElectsโ frequently during Lent. These words refer to participants who are undergoing the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) programme. Some participants take about a year, while others take years to come to where they are now.
The RCIA process can be divided into four periods which are: – The Period Evangelisation and Pre-catechumenate, Period of the Catechumenate, Period of Purification and Enlightenment and Mystagogy.
These periods are marked by three stages in which the participants receive a rite/sacrament: – The Rite of Acceptance, The Rite of Election and The Rite/Sacrament of Initiation
